Passing Phrase - www.learnhebrew.org.il

Haya tov vtov shehayan

Literally and Idiomatically: It was good, and it is good that it was (its over)

This is a relatively simple phrase with no biblical or midrashic etiology. But in its simplicity lies its beauty. You will hear this when one comes back from a long trip abroad.

As you flop back into your armchair and try to get over your jet lag you may just say, "Haya tov - v'tov sheHaya".
