Idiomatically: You get what you give The word "yachas" may be more familiar to some of us in its use of "Yichus" or relationship, referring to one's lineage (Sanhedrin 82b). It can also refer to an attitude, relationship, treatment, or even to a mathematical equation. In our case we are talking about the way we relate to people. "Gorer" can mean to pull or bring about (note that a tow truck is called a "Grar"). There is a famous saying, “Mitzvah goreret mitzvah …” - one good deed leads to another (Ethics 4:2).The same is true in the way we treat others. In a more altruistic vein, to quote Plato, "Good actions give strength to ourselves and inspire good actions in others.” |
