Hashkafat Olam

Literally: A Observation of the world
Idiomatically: World outlook

"Hashkafa" is a way to see something (Tosefta Maaser Sheni 5:25) and is based on the root "Shin Kuf Pei". It makes sense that "Hashkafat Olam" is the way we see the world. Taking this one step further, if you can see something then it must be clear. That is why when something is transparent, whether figuratively and literally, it is "Shakuf." By the way, the word for binoculars is "Mishkefet," and of course it helps if you take off the lens cover.
